AT SOUTHLAND COFFEE

We love coffee and we wanted incredible coffee in hand wherever we were; from our office desks to holidays spent exploring the mountains, seas and deserts.

Pour-over coffee is the answer.

5 reasons that we believe Pour-Over delivers the best coffee without fancy equipment.

1. Precise Flavor Control
The brewing process allows for control over factors like water temperature, pour speed, and extraction time, resulting in a more tailored flavor profile.

2. Enhanced Flavor Clarity
Pour-over brewing emphasizes the unique flavors and nuances of unique roasting profiles.

3. Freshness
Pour-Over sachets are heat sealed to lock in the flavour for up to 18 months.

4. No fancy equipment needed
All you need is hot water! It couldn't get any simpler.

5. Minimal Acidity
Pour-over brewing often produces coffee with a balanced acidity, pleasing to those who prefer a cleaner taste.

Step 1

1. Gather Your Tools:

  • Pour-over coffee sachet
  • Fresh, hot water (just off the boil, around 90–96°C / 195–205°F)
  • Mug or cup

2. Tear open the sachet to reveal the pre-filled coffee filter.

Step 2

Gently shake the filter to ensure all of the coffee grinds are at the bottom and gently tear open along the dotted line.

Step 3

Pull out the "ears" of the filter and clip over your mug.

Pour hot water (about 30–50ml) over the coffee grounds to bloom the coffee. Repeat x3 using about 180–250ml (depending on your taste preference).

Step 4

Pro Tip: Adjust water temperature and brewing time to suit your taste. Freshly boiled water that’s slightly cooled works best for bringing out the coffee’s full flavor.
